IPL Hair Removal Devices
Home IPL hair removal devices — often searched as a "laser hair removal machine" — use gentle flashes of light at the hair root. With regular sessions, hair grows back slower, finer and less. Every device comes with protective glasses. Please read the skin-tone guide below before you order.
IPL Hair Removal Devices: how to choose the right one
In short
- IPL (intense pulsed light) is not a laser — it uses broad-spectrum light. Home "laser hair removal machines" sold in Pakistan are almost all IPL.
- With weekly sessions for about 8–12 weeks, many users see hair grow back slower, finer and less; touch-ups keep the results. It is not guaranteed to be permanent.
- IPL works best on light to medium (wheatish) skin with dark hair. It is not for very dark skin, or white, grey, blonde or red hair.
- Home IPL devices cost about Rs 4,000–15,000 in Pakistan — far less than a full clinic course.
- Always wear the glasses, patch-test first, and never flash on tattoos, moles or near the eyes.
How IPL works — in simple words
Dark hair contains pigment (melanin). An IPL flash is absorbed by that pigment and turns into gentle heat at the root, which makes the root less active. Hair in the growing stage reacts best, which is why you need several sessions a week apart to catch all of it.
Because it targets the contrast between dark hair and lighter skin, IPL works well on light to medium skin with dark hair — and not on very dark skin (the skin absorbs the light instead) or on white, grey, blonde or red hair (there is no pigment to absorb it).
Results build slowly. Most users notice slower, thinner regrowth after about 4–6 weekly sessions, then switch to occasional touch-ups. Results differ between people, and no home device can promise permanent removal.
